As cryptic as this might sound, I can’t leave you without simply saying, Indian Queens. I can’t say any more than that for now so I’ll just say it again – Indian Queens.

Spotted this old chestnut whilst spending a penny in the Hootenanny toilets last Friday and thought it deserved a wider audience.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m always game for a bit of piss-taking but personally I’d have checked to see if there actually was a “proper turntable” or even “some records” in the photo before writing my witty take-down. Not only are there in fact two of each on display but ironically if I wasn’t playing records, there probably wouldn’t have been half as many skipping tracks on Friday night. A wicked session despite the hiccups, in fact almost as good as the detail on that arrow going through my head – bravo.

Having recently set up a soundcloud page I thought I’d give mixcloud a blast, obviously you can access these mixes from my dj page here already but now you can leave comments, make me look popular and press that little heart button to let the world know how much you love each mix, or not if you think they suck. So far I’ve only put up my Mystery Mix from last year but there will be more going up each week and I’ll try and track down some which are missing from here.

There’s a new mix in the pipeline too, with a Jersey theme in honour of (and to be handed out at) my gig in St Hellier with The Fuzzbox boys next month.

By the way what are you doing this weekend? Nothing? Well in that case get your sorry arses down to Brixton on Friday night for a FREE reggae session at the Hootenanny with Pama Intl playing live and I’ll be manning the decks into the small hours. Like I said it’s free, so no excuses.

I’ll be taking my first overseas trip of the year next month (does the channel count as overseas?) with a trip to Jersey on the 27th. Playing alongside the Fuzzbox crew at Urban Aristocracy in St Hellier.

On the recording front I’m on the case with another remix for Jimmy screech who rocked Skylarkin the other night, and there’s a been a few whispers of a collaboration in the coming months. I’ve also just finished a new dub for Pama Intl which will hopefully wind up on the flip of their next 7″ due to drop in a month or so, a sneaky peek follows…

A bit last minute I know but I’ll be doing the early set at the Shatter The Hotel album launch party in Ladbroke grove tomorrow. In keeping with the Strummer tribute theme I’m taking a bag of scratchy reggae cuts made by punks and new wavers, oh and if you haven’t grabbed the album already, don’t be tight, it’s for charity. I’m on at 8pm on the dot so get there late and you’ll miss out, because…

Following that I’m hot footing it up to Oxford for the midnight session at Skylarkin Soundsystem @ The Cellar after Jimmy Screech and his crew have gone bananas for the evening.

On Monday I’ll be dusting off my charity hat again this time in aid of The British Tinnitus Association when I pick out one record for One Tune: One Cause @ Cargo where I’ll be rubbing shoulders with fellow tinnitus sufferers like Adam F, Lottie and of course Eddy TM.

Think I’m name dropping? Well brace yourself cos on the 19th I’m opening for Dj Premier. Yes, as in Gangstarr’s Premier and Brazilian D’n'B legend Dj Marky @ Fabric. Following that it’s back to the grass roots for a skanking session with my old pals Pama Intl @ Hootenannay in Brixton on the 26th.

As for the party I just wanted to say sorry for the midnight hiccup. It turned out my phone was 4 minutes slow and none of the Disco Shed crew were on hand to give me a prod, so while everyone was counting down, I was head down cutting up jungle before turning to see shedonist Del Gazebo frantically digging through a box of wires in a futile search for a microphone. Hopefully the singalong to The Trojan’s Auld Lang Syne made up for the schoolboy error though, so thanks to everyone who made it a splendid night, especially the Gibb brothers.

Right, I’m going back to bed.

Your seasonal celebrations are probably in full swing by now. Mine started in the small hours of Saturday night taking the torch from electro legend Arthur Baker at the Audiosushi Xmas bash in Brixton but if you missed that there’s always the usual yuletide Sklylarkin session on Christmas Eve in Oxford, or for suburban crew I’m spending Boxing Day in the old faithful Kingstonians know as Bacchus, and obviously don’t forget Disco Shed @ The Big Chill Bar on New Years.
