Wrongtom manifests in a multitude of guises, whether he’s behind the decks playing a plethora of stupid bmore bootlegs or bass heavy bashment tracks, playing percussion with tropical discotequers Coco Beware or twiddling the tape echo for the Stoneleigh Mountain Rockers and even the odd indie-pop star here n there, you can rest assured the results will leave you wanting more more more.
Minor celebrity Mixmag CD compiler, Trojan-endorsed remixer and ragga-tag indie Nom De Plume - Wrongtom’s productions tend towards cheeksome bootleg tom-foolery (including teaming Billy Bragg with The Nextmen and giving Lily Allen a pinch with Chaka Demus’ Pliers). On the decks, his patented reggaefied-punk-soul booty-shaking bedlam has been slaying dancefloors all over trendy London town and far beyond in his guise as Hard-Fi’s tour DJ.
Not content with rocking many a spot, Tom can also be found doing a monthly slot on London’s only arts based station Resonance 104.4fm and has supplied mixes for Eddy Temple Morris’ Remix Show and James Hyman’s The Rinse on Xfm, Annie Mac’s Mash Up on BBC Radio 1, plus various independents and pirates nationwide.
In February 2007 Tom took his 4 deck routines from 2 years of Hard-Fi gigs and slammed together the hour long Cassetiquette CD which combines the early bootleg japes of Soulwax and the bounce heavy thefts of Hollertronix with a dash of dusty beat digging and punch button action ala Shadow. Described by One Week To Live as “solid gold for the bootleggers” and recently given the Pharrel seal of approval, Cassetiquette saw a run of promo cd’s appear on record shelves and quickly disappear into the homes of many a satisfied booty fan.
Tom’s production credits cover a decade of releases from the post-bigbeat days of Kingsize records to UK number 1’s with Indie cohorts Hard-Fi, not to mention a stack of work with his reggae side project Stoneleigh Mountain Rockers and a 40 strong remixography taking in pop stars, young punk upstarts, reggae legends and home grown rockabillies alike.
