Octoblur…
Not sure how it came to be October! One minute I’ve got my head in a mixdown and next thing I know it’s dark before 8 and the radiators are on. Fortunately this month has plenty in store to keep those S.A.D feelings at bay, I’ve already spent a weekend messing up the dance at a brace of Big Chill venues and this one isn’t looking too sleep-friendly either.
Friday I’ll be manning the decks before Cash Money & The Nextmen @ Fabric, Saturday I’ll be paying a visit to the old Brixton faithful we call Audiosushi @ The Dogstar.
Anyone that liked the throwback junglist remix I did earlier this year for Easystar might be interested to hear that John Brown’s Body are in the UK for the first time supporting Easystar Allstars. The tour kicked off on the 1st and continues around our grey but pleasent land til the 18th with a brief stop in London on the 13th where I’ll be joining them to play some records @ The Scala in Kings Cross, more details on the tour here.
The merriment continues later that night at the Vans party @ Bacchus in Kingston then I’ve got to knuckle down and finish off Night Of the Living Dub which is something of a ronseal title as I’ll be supplying a reworked dub soundtrack to Romero’s classic Zombie bloodfest in time for some pre-Halloween on screen antics at Stereo Cinema @ The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on the 25th.
After all that if i’m not dead myself I’ll be mixing down the last couple of Phantom tracks before teaming up with Pama Intl once again for their LP launch party at the 100 Club on Oxford St back in smokey old London.
So put simply I’m busy, stop pestering me…
