Rhythms spacing out my head…

The autumn chills are upon us and what better way to warm yourself up than to take an aural trip to Jamaica with Jimmy Screech? Well actually going there would be arguably more fun but if you don’t have the funds, you can now bask in the sun-kissed glory of Jimmy’s new single for a tiny fraction of the price.
The single “Jamaica/Fly Away” hits the digital shops today with my club mix taking Jimmy’s displaced dancehall and repatriating it with a dichotomy of dub and a wheel up in the wharehouse.
There’s a snippet of it along with a load of older releases over in my brand new Listen section or you could even beat the current climate in the music world and buy it!
September’s already been a busy month with a weekend spent at Skylarkin Soundsystem and Festinho in Oxford and Sussex respectively. Next weekend I’ll be heading down to St Ives in Cornwall for a Dertbox Session with west country legend Dante Gabriel, back to Oxford the following friday for Count Skylarkin’s birthday at the Hi Lo Jamaican eatery then straight back to London to join the Disco Shed at The Westbury, then in keeping with the JA theme I’ll be in Kingston on the 26th, the Royal Borough rather than the tropical version though sadly for the old trustworthy session at Bacchus.
As for studio work I rounded up the rockers for a tribute to Joe Strummer the other day, we’ve just finished a cover of The Clash’s “Lost In The Supermarket” for Shatter The Hotel but more on that when it drops, until then be nice and hold your space.
